Meet Lincoln
One of the reasons I fell in love with Lincoln (and NM in general) were the people. Because of this, I wanted to do an informal interview series of the folks who make Lincoln so great. I know not everyone can afford to visit my favorite town in NM, so I thought I'd bring them to you.

We are starting with 8 episodes, but there will be more once I can get back to Lincoln to do them. 2020 has been a hard year for travel, so do stay tuned for more episodes once I can go back to visit my home away from home. Until then, enjoy these 8 episodes of the wonderful family that is Lincoln County. -Tamsin :)

P.S. You may notice a word bleeped out here and there. Those are not swear words...they are the taboo words of YouTube (such as COVID, Coronavirus, and Pandemic). If those words show up in a video on YouTube, your video can get flagged and not found by those searching. So we had to remove them.
Meet Lincoln
Episode 1 - Tiffanie Owen

At the time of this video, Tiffanie worked for the Lincoln Monument, teaching classes to children of all ages about the history of the area. Now she works elsewhere and is a artist in residence in Lincoln at the Dolan Outpost. She is a sincerely talented and accomplished painter with a welcoming and bubbly personality to go with it. Join me as I speak with her about her art and her time working in Lincoln.
Meet Lincoln
Episode 2 - Katharine Nelson
(The Wortley Hotel)

Katharine and her husband, Troy, were the current owners of The Wortley Hotel. when I filmed this. Thought they don't own it anymore, they are still a part of Lincoln. The new owners (Marian & Gary Carpenter) have continued the Nelson's love and care for The Wortley and it is still the best place to stay in Lincoln when you visit. The breakfast at this B&B cannot be beat! Plus, when it comes to a hostess/host duo, whether it be Katherine & Troy OR Marian & Gary, you can't do better! Join me as I speak with Katharine about her journey to/in Lincoln as well as the history of the area and The Wortley Hotel.
Meet Lincoln
Episode 3 - Bill & Bev Strauser
(The Dolan House)

At the time of filming, Bill and Bev had run The Dolan House in Lincoln for as long as I'd been going to Lincoln to do research. Not only is The Dolan House the historic home of Jimmy Dolan (enemy of Billy the Kid), but it is/was a B&B (only one room though), and had a dining room that served the best lunch in town! Unfortunately COVID changed this. Bill passed away, Bev ended up moving, and The Dolan House is for sale. This is likely the last interview with them both so join me as I speak to them about how they ended up in Lincoln, and what owning the Dolan House has meant to them as they now look to sell the property and fully retire.
Meet Lincoln
Episode 4 - Annie LeMay
(Annie's Little Sure Shot Coffee House & Art)

Annie runs a store in Lincoln that carries the best coffee/tea in the area! Not only that, her store carries wonderful art/books by local artists/writers. No one's trip to Lincoln is complete without stopping by this spot. Join me as I speak to the owner, Annie LeMay, on how she came to Lincoln and started this amazing store!
UPDATE: Since this video was shot, she has moved her store down the street to sit across from The House (the two story building referred to as the Courthouse). There shop is a bit smaller, the coffee is out back of the building, but she now has a bigger covered outdoor area (part is heated in the winter) so more can come and enjoy a coffee/tea and converse with locals and visitors alike. Enjoy my interview with Annie and a look at the old location.
Meet Lincoln
Episode 5 - Marilyn Arrowsmith
(The Arrowsmith Store)

At the time of this video, Marilyn and her husband owned the most eclectic and fantastic store in Lincoln. From T-shirts to jewelry, art to books, and every other super cool knickknack you could possibly want for your visit to Lincoln, they have it. They have since retired and the store is for sale, but join me as I speak to Marilyn about how she and her husband ended up in Lincoln and how this store took shape.
Meet Lincoln
Episode 6 - Sumi Ayame
(Aberrant Moon, Lincoln After Dark, and Lincoln County Paranormal)

Sumi is one of the artists who reside near Lincoln whose work you can find in a booth every time you attend an event. She and her best friend, Marla (see Episode 7), sell their art/jewelry/etc. at Lincoln events as well as other local ones around the area. Not only that, but they are part of Lincoln County Paranormal and Lincoln After Dark Tours. Join me here and Episode 7 where I talk to Sumi about her work in Lincoln AND the used bookstore she and her husband run in Ruidoso, NM.
UPDATE: Due to the severe flooding that happened to Ruidoso in 2024, the book shop washed away. She hopes to find a new building someday. Thankfully it was the second flooding that took the building, so she was able to save all her artists' work (as well as her own), plus most of the books.
Meet Lincoln
Episode 7 - Marla Hiebert Caughron (& Sumi Ayame) PART I
(Lincoln After Dark and Lincoln County Paranormal)

Marla is one of the artists who reside near Lincoln whose work you can find in a booth every time you attend an event. She and her best friend, Sumi (see Episode 6), sell their art/jewelry/etc. at Lincoln events as well as other local ones around the area. Not only that, but they are part of Lincoln County Paranormal and Lincoln After Dark Tours. Join me as I talk to Marla about her life in Lincoln and all the things she does that make her a vital part of the artistic community.
Meet Lincoln
Episode 7 - Marla Hiebert Caughron (& Sumi Ayame) PART II
(Lincoln After Dark and Lincoln County Paranormal)

This is a continuation of the previous video. We split it in two to make them more digestible length videos. Where Part I focuses more on the paranormal work and reenactment work they do, this section will speak more on Billy the Kid.
Meet Lincoln
Episode 8 - Beau Lucas

At the time of this recording, Beau lived in Lincoln and was honestly the helping hands of the town. If anyone required help with anything, he was there to assist. I'm pretty sure that Lincoln events are way harder with him gone now (as he had to move during COVID), but when he was there , he made a difference and is missed now that he is on the east coast. Taking all of that into consideration I highly recommend you join me as I talk to him about living in Lincoln and being a member of the Lincoln community.
